POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Director of Data Engineering, you’ll be tasked with establishing a data and platform engineering strategy aligned to our enterprise data and analytics strategy. Through collaboration with data, analytics, architecture, and product management leaders, you’ll develop a sustainable approach to deploying governed, interoperable data products leveraging leading practices in data and platform engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and drive adoption of data and platform engineering leading practices.
- Define and manage KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data pipelines and platform health.
- Provide input into the ongoing maintenance and evolution of Purina’s enterprise architecture based on data and platform engineering requirements.
- Keep up-to-date on industry and market trends in data and platform engineering.
- Partner with product management, business, and technical stakeholders to define data and analytics products and services.
- Partner with Nestlé Regional and Global IT teams to ensure availability of necessary data assets, platforms, and tools.
- Manage 3rd party resources and vendor relationships.
- Champion the enterprise data and analytics strategy throughout the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- 10+ years’ experience in practical, hands-on data engineering.
- 5+ years in a leadership role managing a team of direct reports and setting and executing a data product strategy.
- 3+ years of experience working within the Azure or AWS ecosystem and utilizing Databricks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Snowflake as a database is preferred.
- Experience reporting with PowerBI is preferred.
