Your Role
We are looking for a seasoned Senior iOS Engineer with deep expertise designing, architecting, implementing, and releasing iOS applications. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will help shape the future of mobile development at Appex across a portfolio of mobile apps. You will establish and champion our best practices, toolchains, and components, while working hands-on to architect and implement some of our most exciting technologies. You’ll mentor our mobile engineers and be the go-to person to help solve any challenges in app architecture.
Your Specific Responsibilities Include
- Collaborating with engineers across disciplines to maintain overall engineering best practices
- Establishing and maintaining best practices and toolchains for the mobile engineering team
- Identifying and standardizing shared mobile components to be used across the portfolio
- Leading the hands-on implementation for the most strategic and complex iOS mobile development initiatives
- Providing architectural design, strategy, and planning on mobile development efforts across the portfolio
- Collaborating with our Platform team to identify, prototype, and operationalize new technologies
- Leading and mentoring engineering team members
- Reviewing mobile apps on a regular basis and prescribing improvements or adjustments
- Providing support and guidance during incident response
- Performing technical due diligence efforts on potential acquisitions

Requirements And Skills
- 10+ years of software development experience with at least 5+ years designing and developing iOS applications, with added experience doing full-stack development. Any experience with android or cross-platform frameworks is a plus.
- Highly proficient in the design, architecture, and implementation of iOS applications at scale
- Demonstrated experience developing standards and processes for mobile development to ensure that quality standards are consistently met and exceeded
- Ability to uncover root causes of complex technical problems and provide guidance on solving them
- Deep experience and appreciation for testing and automation (unit, functional, integration)
- Experience with modern iOS development frameworks
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver great user experiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to succinctly represent complex technical concepts to varied audiences and different levels of leadership
- Passionate about technology and staying up to date on industry trends
- Strong commitment to the continuous improvement of yourself and the team
