Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) North America Quality Center (NAQC) is currently looking for a Powertrain/Electrification Sr. Engineer for our Chino, CA location that will:


  1. Support Hyundai/Kia/Genesis to achieve top quality brand in North America
  2. Experience with customers' driving habits, likes and dislikes, via quality investigation & vehicle evaluation
  3. Ability to work with internal and external systems to have an accurate understanding of 'Perceived and Emotional Quality' in North America.
  4. Lead quality and investigation audits to identify and resolve quality issues
  5. Study warranty analysis of current models to provide continuous engineering support, identify problems, conduct root analysis (hands-on), and present summary of findings with clear and accurate reports
  6. Review, verify, validate, and track countermeasure effectiveness
  7. Lead in achieving department KPI with close working relationship with affiliates
  8. Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory and practice
  9. Experience investigating complex technical issues knowledge of vehicle testing related to powertrain components (including electrification)
  10. Experience with Electric Vehicle (EV/HEV/PHEV) operation and diagnostic is a plus
  11. Identify major quality issues for the powertrain systems and provide Engineering analysis and research results to provide 'lessons learned'
  12. Conduct research using government agency website, syndicated study and social media
  13. Experience with EMS data acquisition (INCA is a plus), advanced data analysis and preparation of technical reports
  14. Experience with overall vehicle evaluation (expert in PT/PE evaluation)
  15. Research, procure, and maintain new technology, tools, and methods for data acquisition or analysis.
  16. Ability to conduct benchmark studies remotely and in person.
  17. Create and present technical reports as required.
  18. Travel 40% domestic and international
  19. Provide leadership and build relationships with related vehicle departments
  20. Analytical and problem solving mindset
  21. Coach, counsel, and guide junior engineers

Compensation:

  1. $85,000 - $105,000

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  2. 8+ years of relevant experience
  3. Basic knowledge with automotive systems
  4. Positions require some 'Hands On' experience with modern vehicles
  5. Work experience in electrical vehicle systems is preferred
  6. Experience Microsoft Excel & Power Point
  7. Knowledge of current automotive technology trend (example: basic understanding of Autonomous driving)
