Job Title: Senior System Engineer

Duration: 3 Month Ongoing Contract – will either continually be extended or convert to full-time hire! Ultimate goal is to have someone convert full-time and grow within the organization.

Location: Remote - Must sit within 100-150 miles outside of Dalton, GA (1-2x a month on-site visit for team meetings)

Pay Rate: $65-75/Hour



Day-to-Day:

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for infrastructure maintenance, project support, resiliency support, configuration/provisioning, and incident management. They’ll support CX & AX environments, perform various upgrades, and improve overall performance. They’ll participate in projects and provide architectural improvement recommendations. They’ll ensure operational readiness, troubleshoot, manage, and automate tasks. Additionally, they’ll manage infrastructure components across systems and cloud solutions using scripting language. The role involves a mix of cloud solution in Azure; Windows Operating Systems; and Scripting Languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.


Additional Daily Responsibilities could include:

  • IT Team Collaboration : Work with IT application teams on changes, requests, and incidents. Identify and describe issues, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Task Management : Prioritize activities, manage time, and honor commitments. Gather business and system requirements from various sources.
  • Automation and Documentation : Create scripts to automate tasks (PowerShell, Python, TSQL). Write and publish concise documents and presentations.
  • Problem Solving : Transform observations into patterns, conclusions, and recommendations. Generate and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Meetings and Relationships : Conduct various meetings (one-on-one, group presentations, project reviews). Build effective business and IS relationships.
  • Expectation Management : Regularly manage expectations through documented agreements and revisions. Assemble the right mix of people to achieve objectives.


Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in system administration, engineering, design, and security.
  • Proficient with Azure cloud environment and services, including AKS, EntraID, Databricks, Active Directory, and App Services
  • Experienced with BIG-IP for load balancing, traffic management, and application delivery.
  • Proficient in Windows server environment and VMware.
  • Experienced with on-prem and virtual certificate management


Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of database systems (DB2, SQL, Postgres) and storage area networks.
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and programming languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Experience with Windows Operating Sytems, .NET, Java, and large-scale application and OS patches/upgrades.
  • Familiarity with Directory Services Software (LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory), JEE technology (Tomcat, JBOSS), and messaging technology (MQ, Kafka, JMS).
  • Proficiency in software distribution and instrumentation tools (Azure Monitor, Datadog, Moogsoft, New Relic, Splunk, Tableau).
  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, AAD, SSO, and other security practices and tools.
