Duties
- Be a contributing team member in the design, development and productizing of laser based medical devices.
- Work under the supervision of mechanical engineers to assemble system prototypes, test fixtures, breadboard test fixtures.
- Maintain good lab practices of equipment and tool organization.
- Learn and work with the PLM documentation system (Arena).
Education requirements
- High School or Associates Degree.
- Hands on experience assembling, building and participating in the evaluation of mechanical systems.
- Natural hands on skills; a desire to know "how things work".
Experience Requirements:
- Associate Mechanical Engineering Technician: Minimum one internship semester acting as technician.
- Mechanical Engineering Technician: 2-3 year's experience in the work environment.
- Mechanical Engineering Technician: 5-8 years experience in the work environment.
- Understanding of machining methods, assembly methods, fasteners,
- Ability to read assembly drawings and procedures, and help redline as part of prototype development.
- Willingness to learn and develop additional skills.
- An interest in creating medical devices that advance medical care.
- An interest in lasers and optics is desired.
