As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in transforming healthcare data into actionable insights that empower clinicians, researchers, and administrators to deliver better care.

Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of healthcare data from diverse sources (EHRs, medical claims, etc.)
2. Develop and implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and integrity
3. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective data solutions
4. Design and implement scalable and efficient data storage solutions (e.g. data warehouses, data lakes) aligned with healthcare data privacy regulations
5. Develop and automate data analysis tasks and reporting for various clinical and business objectives
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in healthcare data analytics, including machine learning, natural language processing, and distributed computing
7. Work effectively in a collaborative team environment, communicating clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
2. Strong understanding of data engineering principles and best practices, including data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing
3. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala
4. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated data services (e.g. Redshift, Data Factory, BigQuery)
5. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
6. A passion for driving positive change through innovative data solutions
7. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems an added plus but not required

Bonus Points

1. Hands-on experience working with healthcare data, standards, and regulations (e.g. HIPAA, HL7)
2. Experience with data analytics tools and technologies (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, machine learning libraries)
3. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
4. Strong understanding of data visualization and reporting best practices
