OT Network EngineerOT Network Engineers are responsible for the engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting and security of OPPD's OT Network Infrastructure and maintaining all networks are in full compliance with required regulatory standards. The OT Network Engineer is expected to perform network administration tasks which will enhance network resilience and maintain a robust network security posture. The candidate will be required to possess working knowledge of network infrastructure and possess experience in configuring network switches and firewalls. This position provides professional growth opportunities by developing roadmaps and processes to support continuous improvement activities and strategic initiatives.Position Specific Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesNetwork System Administration:Monitor, analyze performance and maintain the functionality and effectiveness of OPPD's OT Network Systems and associated devices. The scope includes firewalls, routers and switches, remote access connectivity, network monitoring tools and other components comprising of the OT networks infrastructure.Identify, Plan and Implement Network Security Patch Management Program elementsCreate, maintain, and ensure accuracy of OT Network Engineering related network topology drawingsOperations Support:Fulfil change requests, execute change management activities and respond to system incidents within established service level agreementsEnsure systems are running efficiently and optimally. Set system appropriate performance thresholds to monitor and alert on aberrant conditions.Provide 24x7 rotational on-call supportSolution Design and Engineering:Collaborate with business partners to analyze current state environments, identify solutions to existing issues and/or design new technology solutions and proposal of future state network designs.Identify, develop and/or recommend network design principles, frameworks, models, standards, and processes based on industry best practices and solution requirementsProject Delivery:Assist in project initiatives as assigned by Manger which can include development of scheduling, communication to project stakeholders, development of work breakdown structures and attaining hardware/service estimates from vendors.Service as a project participant/SME on project initiatives.Regulatory Compliance Obligations:Ensure internal network security related compliance requirements are accurately completed in a timely manner as it relates to NERC CIP regulations.Implementation and testing of OT Network Engineering compliance internal controlsCoordinate with OT Network Engineering team and business partners to ensure CIP compliance requirements are reviewed, adhered to and internal controls are implemented and effective.QualificationsRequired:A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an equivalent role; OR 5 years of experience in the design, configuration and administration of network environmentsIn-depth knowledge and implementation of networks, remote access, full understanding of network security frameworksDemonstrate the ability to perform research and evaluate the ongoing changes in technology and continued evaluation of best practices in support of network servicesAbility to communicate with technical and management staffMust qualify to obtain NERC AccessDesired:Experience, education or certification in relevant software applications, networking, or ICS cyber security (e.g. SANS, ISACA, CompTIA, etc.) such as CISSP certificationProficient knowledge of NIST standards and other security frameworksExperience in regulatory compliance, such as NERC CIP, PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc.Closing StatementLevel- S4Foundation - $86,386Mid - :$107,982At Omaha Public Power District , we're passionate about three things: power, the people who make it, and the people who rely on it.WE ARE: Where the Light Starts.
