Role Description:

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Electrical Control Engineer II at Can Lines Engineering. The Electrical Control Engineer II will be responsible for designing control systems, as well as writing and implementing software for the respective projects. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting and supporting existing equipment and the integration of new equipment into existing systems.


Typical Duties:

  • Design and implement systems for industrial manufacturing projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables from the CLE proposal documentation.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications, codes, and requirements.
  • Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters and designers.
  • Operate computer and computer systems (including hardware and software) to develop or modify programs. Experience with the following is desirable:
  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix / GuardLogix
  • Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk View
  • Allen-Bradley PowerFlex Drives
  • Allen-Bradley Kinetix servo / motion control
  • Modicon ProWorx NXT
  • Industrial Communications
  • Assist with developing proposals, and presentations.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing installations.
  • Inspect completed installations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Associate’s degree in Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology, or a related field with relevant experience.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in designing electrical control systems, HMI and PLC programming, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, proactive thinking, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of control system architecture and hardware design including safety circuits.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation products and components.
  • Ability to independently design electrical controls and panels to meet UL 508A.
  • AutoCAD Electrical experience is desirable.
  • Ability to travel to various project locations; estimated 25% annually based on project requirements.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish desired but not required.
