Role Overview
The QA engineer role will be responsible for leading our QA, testing, and testing automation efforts, to comprehensively test our large and complex hotel management platform. This role’s focus will be to automate our hundreds of UI-related tests while also introducing API-level testing across our internal services. In addition, you’ll help developers upgrade their unit and lower-level testing while continually improving our processes, tooling, technology, and documentation.
Our QA engineers need strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly with all departments, from engineers to the CEO. They must demonstrate strong organizational skills and independently manage quality assurance activities through proactive coordination with engineers and business teams, showcasing a high level of self-reliance in their efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead our QA automation efforts
- Create tests to identify problems at UI, API, and Unit levels
- Document and analyze bugs and errors found during tests
- Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience
- Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in software development and testing
- High proficiency in computer technology and programming languages
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Windows
- In-depth understanding of Java, Python, SQL, C++ and XML
- Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Able to sit in front of a computer for long hours at a time

You must love travel (though your position does not require traveling) and understand why travelers are willing to pay exorbitant amounts for certain luxury hotel and travel experiences.

- Work from home most of the time and avoid wasting your life in traffic. Our team meets an average of 2 days per month. The exceptions are 1) when you’re onboarding we’ll need to meet with you 3-5 days in a row and 2) when we’re onboarding a major client or releasing critical features, our Team may need to meet more frequently.
