Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Transmission Lead Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the production of detailed plans for high-voltage overhead transmission line improvements. Our clients include utilities, municipalities, and cooperatives. This is a senior-level position that requires a commitment to high-quality work and a strong focus on client satisfaction. You will be responsible for preparing complete and accurate plans and details, under the supervision of the Transmission Manager and project Engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize PLS-CADD for modeling transmission lines.
- Work with PLS-POLE (Method 4) to design transmission structures.
- Develop comprehensive plan and profile drawings.
- Prepare bills of materials and transmission structure detail drawings, including framing, tubular steel, and foundation detailing.
- Generate sag-tension charts and conductor reel schedules.
- Interface with clients as necessary to ensure project specifications are met and client satisfaction is maintained.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in transmission line design.
- Proficient in transmission line hardware and plan production.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in computer-based design software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
Education:
- High school diploma is required; an engineering degree is preferred.
- Training in PLS-CADD and AutoCAD is required.
Travel:
- Minimal travel required (0-10%).
