Position Summary:

The Field Engineer performs duties to schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities for commercial construction projects. This role cooperates and communicates effectively with the Pre-Construction, Design, and Construction Departments. The Field Engineer ensures quality work that is consistent with the standards set forth in each project’s contract documents and for performing the work in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Field Manager in the coordination of subcontractors
  2. Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor subcontractor assigned projects
  3. Monitor compliance to applicable codes, performance standards, and specifications
  4. Review and determine suitability of shop drawings and submittals
  5. Assist with building permits and inspections
  6. Participate in weekly progress/coordination meetings
  7. Assist and support the project team with daily project coordination
  8. Assist with the project buy-out process
  9. Manage the procurement schedule for the project
  10. Assist in bidding and award activities, writing subcontracts, and project financial management
  11. Conduct project estimates and quantity takeoffs
  12. Prepare and price contract changes and additions to contractual agreements
  13. Coordinate material procurement and delivery
  14. Manage weekly pictures for progress reports
  15. Track owner and subcontractor change orders, and RFIs
  16. Manage flow of technical information: project drawings, specifications, addendums, bulletins, etc.
  17. Collect, verify, and distribute as-built drawings
  18. Maintain project close-out documents
  19. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or the equivalent
  2. Minimum of 2 years of Field Engineer experience in the commercial construction industry
  3. Construction software utilization is preferred (examples: Procore, Sage CPC, MS Project)
  4. Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  5. Experience with Bluebeam, Revit
  6. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  7. Pass a background check and drug screening
  8. Legally eligible to work in the United States
