Ballard Marine Construction is a specialty marine and underwater contractor based in Washougal, WA, with regional offices and projects throughout North America.

Job Summary:

This position will be performing engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction activities.

Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Management, Civil or related field.

Experience:

· 1 – 3 years working as a Field Engineer in the construction industry.

· Heavy Civil/Infrastructure experience preferred.

· Proficient with a wide range of software including AutoCAD, Blue Beam, Heavy Bid, Heavy Job, MS Project or P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills:

  1. Use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  2. Ability to use mathematics and scientific rules/methods to solve problems.
  3. Ability to determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed to complete a project.
  4. Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, telephone, email, and presentations.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
  2. Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
  3. Plan and design temporary structures, following construction and government standards.
  4. Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals.
  5. Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to managerial personnel.

Physical Demands / Working Environment:

  1. Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  2. Working outdoors in various temperatures and conditions.
  3. Wears various PPE (respirators, fall protection, etc.).
  4. Will travel on various land, water, and aircraft.
