With the goal of improving product quality, you will function as a “hands on” lead person responsible for spearheading quality initiatives within our manufacturing sites. This role will work directly with our quality team to develop and implement standardized quality initiatives throughout all corporate locations. The focus will be on developing and implementing new and improved inspection techniques on multiple production lines.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead Quality Improvement Initiatives: Research, identify, and implement cutting-edge inspection solutions that drive rapid and measurable improvements in product quality.
  • Collaborate on Quality Management Systems (QMS): Partner with plant quality teams to establish a corporate-wide QMS framework that aligns with ISO9001 standards.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Investigate product complaints using industry-leading root cause analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., PFMEA, 8D, Fishbone Diagrams).
  • Drive Corrective Actions: Monitor and track the progress of corrective actions, ensuring effective resolution of issues and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze Data for Continuous Improvement: Analyze complaint data to uncover hidden trends and initiate corresponding actions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Evaluate and Act on Product Testing: Assess production testing results and product returns, taking prompt and appropriate action when anomalies are detected.
  • Provide Insightful Reporting: Deliver regular updates to management on complaint investigations, corrective actions, and the status of key projects.
  • Document Best Practices: Develop and maintain work instructions to support manufacturing processes.
  • Customer Site Visits: Visit customer sites and Greenbridge locations as needed to support quality investigations and maintain strong customer relationships.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Experience: 3-5 years in a Quality Engineer or Quality Improvement role, preferably in plastics or rubber manufacturing.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering preferred).


Skills:


  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Expertise with root cause analysis tools such as PFMEA, 8D, Fishbone Diagrams, FTA, and CAPA.
  • Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and using measurement tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for statistical trending, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documenting processes and engaging with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset.
  • Travel: 25% domestic travel required.
