We are currently seeking an Engineer specializing in Campus Area Network/Local Area Network (CAN/LAN) to contribute to the support of our government customer's global enterprise networks. The role involves providing solutions for the modernization of network components while ensuring service delivery aligns with customer requirements in a mission-focused operational enterprise.
JOB DUTIES:
Interpret customer requirements and apply standardized design approaches for service delivery. Thoroughly document designs with diagrams, bill of materials, cabling sheets, configurations, and other supporting documents.
Evaluate new technologies and capabilities through testing in a lab environment. Deploy these capabilities to production networks and manage the migration of user traffic.
Provide technical expertise to operations engineers and technicians.
Supervise other network support and client server specialists, planning, coordinating, and implementing network services.
Develop and enhance design products, processes, and systems.
Network engineering and design experience specific to Campus Area and Local Area Networks. This includes applying industry standards, developing configurations, and integrating solutions into production environments. Experience with Cisco routers and switches, Brocade switches, and Juniper routers and switches is desired.
Expert knowledge of routing and switching protocols, demonstrated through briefings and documentation. Extensive BGP experience is a plus. CCNP or equivalent knowledge is desired.
Demonstrate initiative and discipline to work unsupervised as part of a network engineering team. Experience in establishing processes, developing documents, and organizing repositories is a plus.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 10 years of experience, which may be a combination of work history and education (Doctorate with 3 years of experience, Masters with 4 years, Bachelor's with 6 years, Associates with 8 years, or High School with 10 years).
Must meet Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 certification requirements.
Must have or obtain a Security+ CE or equivalent 8570 certification.
Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
