The Position
The Director of UX/CX is a senior leadership role, reporting to the VP of UX/CX, with overall responsibility for all aspects of UX for products and solutions for a significant business group within Wolters Kluwer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategic leadership: Defining the long-term vision and strategy for user experience design, aligning it with business objectives and goals. Establish design principles, guidelines, and best practices to guide the development of user-centered products and services.
- Team management: Leading and managing a team of UX professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Ensure the team’s collaboration, growth, and adherence to design processes and methodologies.
- User research and insights: Partner with our research and data team to gain a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and motivations. Ensure that the teams are using research findings, data and insights to inform design decisions and validate design solutions.
- UX design and prototyping: Providing expertise in user interface (UI) design, interaction design, and information architecture. Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs to communicate and test design concepts.
- Stakeholder management: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and stakeholders, to ensure alignment and a shared understanding of user experience goals.
- Inclusive Design: Implement and advocate for WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) accessibility standards.
- Usability testing and evaluation: Conduct usability testing and evaluate design solutions based on user feedback.
Desired Experience
- At least 10 years of relevant design experience
- 6+ years successfully managing design teams
- Understanding of how to successfully manage teams in the hybrid environment
- Proven experience hiring and managing teams
- Extensive experience working with senior clients, stakeholders, and developers
- Experience in affecting large culture change that drives business performance
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in financial management and budgeting fundamentals
- Experience working in a Lean/Agile development environment
- Skilled at working with third party service providers
- Excellent time and project management skills
