Mach is a defense manufacturing company that builds munitions to help the United States win future wars. Backed by $85M in funding from top venture firms, our small lean team ideates, designs, manufactures, and sells cutting-edge weapons to the Department of Defense.

Role Summary:

Mach Industries is seeking an Integration & Test Engineer to design and implement state-of-the-art testing solutions for our next-generation autonomous vehicles. This role involves developing automated test systems to produce flight hardware quickly and reliably. You will be responsible for the entire testing lifecycle, from defining test requirements to executing tests, analyzing data, and seeking ways to replace manual processing with automated solutions. You will contribute to the development, automation and execution of test procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop and build automated test platforms to best validate Mach’s software.
  2. Develop software that allows for test execution across multiple environments: hardware-in-the-loop (HITL, HIL) and virtualized hardware simulations.
  3. Implement vertical test solutions for design characterization, validation, and manufacturing.
  4. Own the technical aspects of one or more test automation projects, from requirements gathering to successful deployment and maintenance.
  5. Invent tools that enable more frequent and reliable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis.
  6. Develop custom test sequences in Python and Labview following software engineering best practices.
  7. Create well documented test cases and operating procedures for test systems.
  8. Work closely with developers to provide a reliable, fact, accurate and easy-to-use integrated test platform.
  9. Hands-on integration and troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in software, computer science, electrical engineering or related fields.
  2. 5 years of relevant experience.
  3. Strong ability to read electrical circuits and schematics, navigate PCB layouts, and understand manufacturer’s product data sheets.
  4. Proficiency with industrial buses and communication protocols (USB, VISA, GPIB, Ethernet, Serial, RS-485, SPI, I2C, etc).
  5. Experience with automation instrumentation such as programmable power supplies, multiplexers, DMMs, signal analyzers, signal generators, multifunction devices (digital and analog).
  6. Development experience in C, C++, or Python programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in Labview and Python for developing custom test sequences.
  2. Experience with RF measurements and equipment including Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, and Network Analyzers.
  3. Knowledge of Custom PCBA design for test systems.
  4. Familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and embedded systems.
  5. Experience managing software repositories and version control.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is proactive and self-driven with a strong technical expertise in software test system architecture. They possess the ability to engage with key stakeholders, gather requirements, and translate them into efficient scalable solutions with minimal supervision. With a strong sense of ownership, they can independently navigate complex challenges and offer creative solutions.

The candidate should have exceptional communication and teamwork skills, as they may need to convey difficult information while fostering collaboration. They must have the experience and confidence to design and implement both software and hardware architecture for test systems, ensuring maximum reusability and alignment with customer requirements.
