Position Summary

The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers, develops, and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH), and Singapore and provides new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

As an R&D Sustainability Engineering Intern , you will be part of the Site Engineering team working on activities to support our sustainability commitments. Our Orbe R&D site has two targets:

  1. Improve the CO2 footprint of the site.
  2. Validate technologies & concepts to support our factories in reducing their CO2 footprint.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Sustainability Engineering Intern

  • Build a mapping of consumption for the chilled water network for the site (Process and Building).
  • Consolidate the current capacity for the existing chilled water compressors system.
  • Suggest an optimization strategy to balance/prioritize the current supply network.
  • Make a detailed study about alternative solutions for chiller compressors with energy recovery loop.
  • Develop a comprehensive design with scope, technologies & costs while contacting external suppliers.
  • Support the maintenance team to drive & improve the utilities dashboard to follow chilled water consumptions.
  • Build one pager with new opportunities to improve our sustainability roadmap.
  • Be part of the Orbe sustainability team as well as the R&D sustainability network.
  • Support the sustainability champion by preparing documents, presentations & supports for meetings with the management.
  • Create communications to increase sustainability awareness among Orbe employees.

What will make you successful

  • Currently studying a Master’s degree in Engineering (Energetic, Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
  • Autonomy, good communication skills, and team spirit.
  • Good technical skills on utility management (generation, distribution, consumption).
  • Utilities distribution design and management.
  • Fluent in French and English.
