This opportunity entails overseeing and leading geospatial projects and solutions for complex business problems. You will work with clients and stakeholders to define geospatial strategy and vision, and design and develop innovative solutions using advanced geospatial technologies while providing technical expertise and direction for junior geospatial developers and analysts.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee and lead geospatial projects and solutions for complex business problems using GIS software and tools.
- Define geospatial strategy and vision for clients and stakeholders.
- Design and develop innovative solutions using advanced geospatial technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing.
- Provide technical expertise and direction for junior geospatial developers and analysts.
- Review and optimize geospatial data and applications for quality, performance, and security.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for software and hardware systems used by other departments within the organization.
- Identify new opportunities and challenges for GIS technology within the organization or industry sector.
- Work with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Programming, or related field and 6 years of related experience, or
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Programming, or related field and 5 years of related experience, or
- In lieu of education, 10 years of relevant experience.
What You'll Bring:
- Knowledge of advanced geospatial concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, and coordinate systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, R, etc.
- Experience with web development frameworks such as Django, Flask, React, etc.
- Experience with mobile development platforms such as Android or iOS.
- Experience with big data, cloud computing, or machine learning technologies.
- Ability to oversee and lead geospatial projects and teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and quality.
- Experience with geospatial data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with geospatial data management tools such as ArcSDE or PostGIS.
What We Prefer:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Computer Programming.

The approximate pay range for New York is $91,366.10 - $178,632.44. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
The approximate pay range for Los Angeles Metro Area and Orange County, CA is $105,071.01 - $164,341.84.
The approximate pay range for Colorado is $100,502.71 - $157,196.54.
