We are currently looking to add a Traffic Operations Engineering Designer to our team. As a Traffic Operations Engineering Designer, your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
Support senior staff on existing projects
Perform analyses related to traffic operations, safety and/or planning analyses
Document study/analyses findings and recommend solutions in coordination with senior staff
Assist senior staff with communicating findings from analyses/studies to clients/staff including
Preparing PowerPoint slide decks, meeting talking points
Ability to assist senior staff answer questions if needed when presenting results
Preparing written reports and correspondence
Documenting meeting summaries/minutes
Conduct traffic operation analysis, transit analysis and corridor analysis to estimate project traffic data for existing year conditions, future no-build conditions, and future build alternatives
Conduct available data research, planning policy and regulation research, and project background information review in order to gather project related information, identify problems and potential solutions, and evaluate potential alternatives
Perform Quality Control Tasks
Conduct traffic operations studies, traffic safety studies, project development and environmental studies
COMPETENCIES
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgement abilities.
Proficiency with traffic engineering /transportation planning software (i.e., HCS, Synchro, VISSIM and ArcGIS)
Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Understanding in all or some of GDOT guidelines/processes (Complete Streets. Project Traffic Forecasting, Interchange Access Reports, Safety Analyses/Countermeasures)
Knowledge of transportation and traffic engineering/planning principles and practices
Must be flexible and team player.
Dependable, Reliable, Punctual

Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Urban Planning or equivalent.
1 to 5 years experience working in the Transportation field.
EI preferred
Knowledge of transportation and traffic engineering/planning principles and practices
