FPC of Hendersonville is seeking an accomplished and results-driven Reliability Engineering Manager with a background in engineered materials or manufacturing for a key corporate role. This role will oversee a team to ensure the reliability, availability, and maintainability of products and processes. It requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies that enhance performance and support operational excellence. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Capital & Reliability Engineering, the manager will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and mentor a team of reliability engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  2. Define objectives, track metrics, and implement development plans for team growth.
  3. Promote innovation and problem-solving in a collaborative environment.
  4. Develop strategies to enhance product reliability and process efficiency.
  5. Align reliability goals with business objectives and industry standards.
  6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and set long-term reliability targets.
  7. Oversee reliability assessments such as FMEA, RCA, and RCM.
  8. Analyze trends and implement data-driven plans to boost reliability.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reliability from design to production.
  10. Ensure seamless communication between teams for goal alignment and updates.
  11. Lead reliability projects, managing resources, timelines, and outcomes.
  12. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance standards.
  13. Develop and maintain key reliability metrics and reports, providing insights to stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
  2. 15+ years of manufacturing experience, with 10 years in maintenance and reliability engineering.
  3. 3-5 years of proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  4. Strong proficiency in reliability engineering principles, analysis tools, and techniques.
  5. Excellent project management skills with a focus on balancing multiple priorities.
  6. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  7. Certification in Reliability Engineering (CRE) or other relevant credentials preferred.
  8. Industry experience in engineered materials or manufacturing.
  9. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies.
  10. US Citizenship or Green Card Holder required.

  1. Frequent travel (up to 50%).
  2. Ability to interface effectively with both plant and corporate leadership.
  3. Persistence in maintaining engineering principles and navigating changing requirements.
  4. Self-motivation, adaptability, and a drive for learning and growth.
  5. Ability to meet deadlines, manage contractors/vendors, and lead meetings efficiently.
