- Create circuit schematics and printed circuit board (PCB) designs.
- Code, test, debug, and modify complex embedded systems.
- Coordinate and participate in hardware and firmware design and code reviews.
- Document and archive software program releases following the company's development processes.
- Develop product requirements and functional specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions.
- Analyze hardware and firmware requirements to assess design feasibility.
- Identify, evaluate, document, and mitigate issues and risks in hardware/firmware applications.
- Contribute to project plans with timelines and cost estimates.
- Familiar with Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), Electrical Utilities (EU), and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) standards.
- Mentor associate-level engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Provide technical expertise on embedded hardware to various project teams, sales and marketing, quality services, and customers.
- Write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Support production with lifecycle demands of existing products.
- Assist in resolving product-based technical issues.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Over six (6) years of experience in embedded systems hardware and firmware development.
- Familiarity with power electronics hardware development.
- Strong knowledge of circuit schematic and PCB design tools.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Matlab-Simulink, PSpice, Python).
- Proficient with basic electrical testing equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters).
- Strong skills in C programming and assembly languages.
- Working knowledge of version control and bug tracking software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Minimal travel for conferences, training, and customer visits.
