Senior Network Developer

Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle cloud computing environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI). Primarily focused on development and support of network fabric and systems through a combination of a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills to support the intensive automation required to operate a production environment. As OCI is a cloud-based network with a global footprint, this support will include hundreds of thousands of network devices supporting millions of servers, connected over a mix of dedicated backbone infrastructure and the Internet.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in Network lifecycle management through network build and/or upgrade projects.
2. Collaborate with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.
3. Utilize existing procedures and tools to develop and safely execute network changes, while also developing new procedures as needed.
4. Serve as technical lead for team projects and contribute to the development of roadmap issues.
5. Lead the development of new runbooks and methods of procedures.
6. Mentor junior engineers.
7. Participate in network solution and architecture design processes.
8. Develop standalone features and participate in operational rotations as either primary or secondary.
9. Provide break-fix support for events and serve as escalation point for event remediation.
10. Lead post-event root cause analysis.
11. Coordinate with networking automation services for the development and integration of support tooling.
12. Frequently develop scripts to automate routine tasks for the team and business unit.
13. Serve as SME on software development projects for network automation.
14. Support network vendor software bug fixes and collaborate with network vendor technical account team and internal Quality Assurance team to drive bug resolution and assist in the qualification of new firmware and/or operating systems.
