Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Community Choice Credit Union, you will play a key role in designing, developing, maintaining and implementing cutting-edge financial software solutions for a variety of business and member solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of software engineering best practices, system architecture, and credit union operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive high-impact projects and ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability, to ensure our software platforms, meet the highest standards of performance.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions aligned with business requirements. Collaborate with product owners to understand technical needs and ensure project goals are met within the defined timelines.

• System Architecture: Design and implement system architecture that supports the growth and complexity of the credit union’s operations, ensuring long-term stability and flexibility.

• System Analysis & Optimization: Analyze existing systems, recommend and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency, security, and scalability of software platforms, including cloud environments and databases.

• Code Review & Quality Assurance: Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices, driving continuous improvement in software performance and reliability. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including code structures, workflows, and system interactions, to ensure the transparency and sustainability of ongoing development efforts.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement API integrations, ensure data accuracy, and support interoperability between internal and third-party systems.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Eight to ten years of professional software development experience. with at least three years in a senior role.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as: C#, .NET, Python, and various JavaScript frameworks. Experience with Azure cloud platform, API design and integration, and working with SQL databases. Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, security best practices, and troubleshooting/debugging techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
