This is a position for Electrical Engineer 1, 2 or 3. Engineering classification is based on previous applicable work experience. Purpose of this position is to design Electrical Distribution projects by delivering safe, clear, and technical designs that match customer standards. Applicants will ultimately demonstrate the ability to effectively master Duke Energy systems in an effort to deliver work ready job plans to construction crews. Position will have some supervision and guidance but will require a self-driven individual who can manage workload independently after training. Engineering degree is required in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical.
Engineer 1
Required Specifications
- ABET Accredited engineering degree or PE
- Prior experience in the field is a plus
- Starting salary range - $64,480
Engineer 2
Required Specifications
- ABET Accredited engineering degree or PE
- Minimum 3+ years of applicable experience
- Starting salary range -$81,110
Engineer 3
Required Specifications
- ABET Accredited engineering degree or PE
- Minimum 6+ years of applicable experience
- Salary range - Based on Experience
Basic Duties and Responsibilities for all positions
- Always maintain a safe working environment including on site in office and out in the field via an ever-changing environment
- Gather and analyze all appropriate field and technical information to provide turnkey product to customers
- Utilize customer standards to deliver, develop, and implement cost effective designs
- Work Alongside Peers to identify and obtain appropriate permitting from city and other municipalities when required
- Coordinate with construction crews if further information is required to complete job
- Perform field work as needed to perform designs
- Maintain effective communication with peers to help facilitate larger customer driven jobs
- Work in time efficient manner to adhere to company driven benchmarks in an effort to avoid construction delays
- Must pass a drug screening test
- CAD'ing skills a plus but not required. (AutoCAD, microstation)
- Assist in training and mentoring fellow staff using prior experience
