  1. Strategize and design processes, documentation, tools, equipment, and materials to launch capital equipment to Medtronic's global service organization to allow them to accomplish their work effectively and efficiently.
  2. Strategize and create procedures, quality documents, service manuals, or other documentation required for field and technical services teams.
  3. Drive best-in-class customer uptime and service effectiveness including communication with Medtronic field service and depots worldwide that service CAS capital equipment.

Will the contingent worker be working remotely or onsite, or both (if both, please confirm possible schedule)? Hybrid - 3 days on-site, 2 days remote. Onsite is at Mounds View, MN campus.




In this exciting role as a Product Support Engineer, you will have responsibility to provide product support for service and repair activities for Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) multi-product ablation business. The right candidate will possess a mix of technical, leadership, and project management skills in the support of service and repair strategies for CAS capital equipment portfolio. The candidate must be driven to succeed and willing to invest the time necessary to assist in the development of a world class service organization where service is a competitive advantage to the CAS business.


CAS

Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) provides a broad suite of electrophysiology solutions intended to disrupt and lead the market in cardiac mapping and ablation technologies for arrhythmia management. These clinical and economical solutions will enable clinicians to treat patients with safer, faster, easier and with more predictable procedure times and outcomes.

  • Provide process, documentation, tools, equipment, and materials to the global field service organization to allow them to accomplish their work effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist in the update or create procedures, quality documents, service manuals, or other documentation required for field and technical services teams.
  • Support projects aimed at increasing customer uptime and service effectiveness including communication with field service and depots worldwide that service Cardiac Ablation Solutions capital equipment.
  • Provide input to the organization on key projects focused on quality improvements, system updates and next generation equipment.
  • Support training to internal field service, technical service, sales and clinical personnel.
  • Work with the global field organization to support service activities in existing markets and expansion into new markets.
  • Manage and priorities service-related issues and escalations from the global field service team.
  • Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
  • Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
  • May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Responsible for production support engineering with respect to testing methods, procedures, and problems; device specification and yield problems; minor redesign of devices and masks; analysis of customer returns; and optimizing device production relative to cost constraints. Assumes responsibility for device after transfer into highvolume production and usually responsible for entire device manufacturing operations other than wafer fabrication. May assist customer in device usage problems or customer testing of complex devices. SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University). DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS Autonomy: Established and productive individual contributor. Works independently with general supervision on larger, moderately complex projects / assignments. Organizational Impact: Sets objectives for own job area to meet the objectives of projects and assignments. Contributes to the completion of project milestones . Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Requires a University Degree and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
