Highway Project Engineer

Highway Project Engineer – We are looking for a team member in our Transportation Design Group with the desire to grow within our Highway Department.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design team developing roadway improvements for highway-related projects
2. Plan, coordinate, and oversee project team scheduling and progress
3. Review and seal plans, specifications, and estimates for contract bidding as Engineer of Record
4. Complete designated assignments and report progress to project managers
5. Mentor, review, and check work of junior staff
6. Perform field views and attend on-site and off-site meetings
7. Participate in proposal development, project scoping, and project staffing projections
8. Work collaboratively with other team members, consultants, and our clients
9. Attend professional organization meetings to build relationships and assist with business development
10. Perform complex design functions
11. Monitor the performance of projects, including quality, schedule, and budget
12. Knowledge of construction techniques

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 6 years of direct experience in the design of transportation projects
2. BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required
3. PE license required
4. Strong work ethic
5. Ability to work in a team environment
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
7. MicroStation and InRoads or OpenRoads experience required
8. Ability to perform project site visits
9. PennDOT experience required
