Job Description:

The position is responsible for managing, directing, and performing the field installation or repairs of assigned, while maintaining the highest standard of workmanship and safety. With a focus on safety and professionalism, the Service Technician contributes to Kearney’s values and standards, showcasing autonomy and technical skills while maintaining a high standard of excellence.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duties and responsibilities may change frequently and with different types, sizes, and employees assigned to each project. Familiarize self with the scope and requirements of the project assigned.
  • Perform work in a professional manner and within the budgeted hours assigned. Troubleshoot and resolve risks and issues to complete work. Ensure work is being performed in a workman-like manner, efficiently and safely. Set the work pace and demonstrate an excellent attitude to provide a role model for others.
  • Work independently and may lead and direct the activities of assigned personnel.
  • Work with dispatch software to communicate status of work and scheduling assignments. Coordinate work with other team members using effective and professional communication.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with employees, customers, and contractors.
  • Maintain company vehicle and tools in proper working condition.
  • Practice and promote safety practices and procedures. Communicate safety issues and concerns and documents employee safety violations. Comply with the policies and procedures of Kearney Electric and its quality and safety standards.
  • Promote the Kearney core values and project a professional image.


Requirements:

  • 2 years verifiable work experience in the trade with a record of successfully demonstrating competence in mechanical skills, code knowledge, theory, installation skills and safety practices.
  • Historical record of on time projects completed within budget.
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Trade school or apprenticeship desirable.
  • An ability to plan.
  • An ability to accurately and legibly complete paperwork and to maintain files and paperwork.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in decisions.
  • Positive relationship with management and an ability to provide accurate insight into field problems and needs while recognizing and supporting the Company's needs.
