Job Requirements / Description

Full Swing is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help in the development of hardware to support a platform of premium sports tracking and simulation systems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems and components, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Primary Functions

  • Lead complex mechanical development from concept, to testing and qualification, and into production
  • Prototype solutions, run FMEA, define and execute hardware test plans
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., Solidworks) to create detailed models, drawings and simulations for mechanical components and systems.
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts including product improvement
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define product requirements
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing of mechanical designs to validate performance, durability and safety.
  • Own development timeline, lead design reviews
  • Maintain quality records and documentation as required

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Requirements

Required Education and Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2-4 years of professional mechanical development experience
  • Strong CAD skills, preferably Solidworks
  • Ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards and apply GD&T practices

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Must be self-motivated and able to deliver work per schedule with minimal supervision
  • Strong technical, design, analysis skills
  • High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles
  • Experience in FEA software
  • Experience in part and assembly design, applying injection molding, die casting, and machining
  • Demonstrated hands-on prototyping for proof of concept
  • Has strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of and experience in selecting materials, manufacturing methods, and surface treatments for mechanical components
  • Experience working with PCBA mechanical design, and electro-mechanical consumer products
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing suppliers & supporting new product introduction
  • Experience with Document and revisions control, and configuration management
  • Hobbies in the sports and consumer technology
