Summer Internship Program
The program is a 12-week paid internship immersive experience that provides functional learning working on robust and challenging project work, Executive and Senior leadership engagement, and exposure to Danaher Business System fundamentals. The program culminates with a report-out presentation to leaders from the organization. After successful completion of the program, interns will have the opportunity to return as a full-time associate upon graduation.
This position is part of the Test Engineering Team located in Chaska, MN and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.
You will be a part of the Test Engineering Team and report to the Chaska Test Engineering Manager responsible for overseeing test development for all PCB and module / sub-assembly functional testers used to support Chaska instrumentation products. The Test Engineering intern for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the design and implementation of complex custom functional test equipment used to confirm the performance of a variety of devices ranging from printed circuit boards (PCBs) to large electro-mechanical modules & sub-assemblies. This includes the design & construction of the fixtures, writing automated test scripts using internal test software and / or C#, and gathering & incorporating end-user feedback from operations for continuous improvement.

The hourly range for this role is $30.00. This is the rate that we in good faith believe is the rate of compensation for this role at the time of this posting.

- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Ability to read & comprehend low to moderate complexity PCB schematics
- Experience with one or more common programming languages - preferably C# (C++, Visual Basic, Python, Java, etc.)
- Creating any type of electronics and/or software "hobby project" using a Raspberry Pi or Arduino, a custom PC build, etc. (bonus points if there's code on GitHub or Bitbucket)
- PCB layouts in any CAD package such as Orcad or Eagle/Autodesk
- 3D Modeling / printing using SolidWorks, Fusion360, or any other CAD package
- Hands-on experience wiring/soldering/wire-wrapping and debugging circuits using standard measurement equipment (multimeters, scopes, etc.)
