Structural Designer

Location: Houston, TX

Pay range: $70K - $90K per annum

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop structural plans for residential buildings, focusing on wood structures.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and building codes.
• Conduct site visits to assess project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools to create detailed structural drawings.
• Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the safety and stability of designs.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Stay updated with industry trends, building codes, and best practices in wood construction.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team during the building phase.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on residential and wood structures.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
