Job Description
Duties:
- Designs, develops, and maintains products with embedded systems.
- Designs and develops software and supports hardware design for real-time control and data acquisition in embedded product platforms with diverse scope and complexity.
- Produces software designs that meet requirements.
- Writes source code required for completed designs.
- Ensures that designs, design decisions, and implementations are documented.
- Tests and debugs units to ensure that software conforms to the design and to customer requirements.
- Defines software systems required to support Design Verification and Function Testing.
- Works with Electronics Developers to ensure that electrical designs meet software requirements.
- Ensures that documents and source code files are archived in Parker's version control system.
- Provides technical information for review with product engineering teams applying consistent engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods.
- Contributes to the completion milestones associated with specific projects.
- Reviews product specifications to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and conformity to standards and procedures.
- Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions, engineering change orders, and improvements to engineering management or the project team.
- Maintains and further develops professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and/or participating in professional associations.
- Shares specialized knowledge with others and assists in mentoring new employees.
- Remote work permitted within a reasonable commuting distance of the Rohnert Park, California Office.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of experience as a Motor Controls Engineer, Sr. Motor Controls Engineer, Motor Controls and Validation Engineering, or related job where required experience is gained. Also requires at least 6 years of experience in the following:
- Embedded software development using C and C++ on real-time systems;
- Motor and power electronics control;
- Field Oriented control and sensorless design;
- Troubleshooting tools such as JTAG, SWD, LANScope and inverterGUIs, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
SALARY: $175,000 to $206,000 per year
