As the Taskforce Chief Engineer, you'll be the heart and soul of our engineering department, steering maintenance operations with a keen eye for detail and a passion for excellence.

In this role, you have the opportunity to travel to 79 of our properties, bringing your leadership, integrity, and innovative spirit to each unique location.

You'll work onsite for up to 30 days, followed by a full week at home. During your onsite periods, you’ll enjoy a regular schedule of 5 days a week, ensuring a balanced routine.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop, and train a diverse and effective team in accordance with Atrium Core Values;
• Manage engineering associates by ensuring they understand employment practices, recommending employment decisions and corrective action, supporting performance management, and implementing discipline;
• Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and supplies;
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems and other equipment throughout the hotel;
• Participate in the development of the engineering and Capital budget;
• Create work schedules while managing and measuring departmental needs and productivity;
• Oversee preventative maintenance assignments and the execution of Capital projects;
• Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, and OSHA standards;
• Track guest room requests for servicing and ensure completion;
• Serve as the head of the property’s loss prevention and risk management programs;
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures;
• Assist in onboarding and training of new Chief Engineers;
• Travel from hotel to hotel working in the absence of a full-time Chief Engineer;
• Complete any other work as required to fulfill the primary purpose of the position.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of engineering experience to include mechanical, electrical, and plumbing;
• Prior supervisory/leadership experience;
• Experience managing a department budget with an understanding of P&L statements, labor costs, and R&M expenses;
• Experience managing utilities and energy systems;
• Understanding of capital planning and replacement cycles;
• Experience with NFPA fire code and life safety systems.

Licenses/Certifications Required:

• Level 1 Mechanical Certification;

Technology Required:

• Knowledge of computer equipment, basic telephony, and IT background;
• Ability to use web-based applications for ordering, scheduling, and CMMS systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, lifting up to 15 lbs regularly;
• Ability to navigate the property for up to four (4) hours within a shift.

Other:

Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Good communication and writing skills are essential.
