Summary

This role will specialize in creating experiences across all digital products from ecommerce, web, mobile, in-store, and future applications. This role provides a single point of contact for all UX design, standards, and research across the organization and is charged with developing and leading UX practices for best-in-class digital customer experiences.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  1. Act as an advocate for the user, ensuring all interfaces are intuitive, consistent, and relevant.
  2. Develop, formalize, and keep current UX development processes to gather and translate business requirements into intuitive wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and helps drive well-formed technical requirements.
  3. Coordinate with Product Management and testing team to ensure high quality, on-time releases.
  4. Drive usability and user research projects using UCA methodologies such as: Traditional Usability Testing (in lab), Remote testing, Heuristic Evaluations (Expert Reviews), and Field Observations.
  5. Applies the results from user research and usability testing to inform product roadmaps, create new features and improve current features and help determine impact of changes on KPIs.
  6. Develops and applies creative designs and current/emerging UX techniques, ensuring that content meets brand standards and targets the intended audience.
  7. Uses knowledge of front-end platforms, frameworks, and languages to deliver high-quality site and application designs our development teams can deliver on.
  8. Partner with Product Management team in performing A/B testing and MVT testing.
  9. Tests and improves site usability while ensuring optimal performance on a variety of browsers.
  10. Spearhead modernization of all ecommerce channels of Visual Comfort & Co..
  11. Actively manage outside development firms (both domestic and international) to meet internal design and usability standards.
  12. Brief peers and executive leadership on customer discovery/findings while regularly seeking opportunities to share UX design principles and customer findings across the organization.
  13. Works autonomously.

Qualifications

  1. Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, design, marketing or formal education in Human Centered Design, Design Methods, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or related field
  2. Experience designing complex, data-intensive ecommerce applications
  3. Experience designing for B2B and B2C customer groups, advocating for each
  4. 7+ years of design experience working on an Agile product team
  5. 3+ years of experience leading a UX team/organization
  6. Experience working with a mix of onshore and offshore developers and UX designers
  7. An understanding of design, usability, and research best practices
  8. Experience designing for iOS and Android
  9. Proficiency in common wireframing tools such as Balsamiq, Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or similar application
  10. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to multiple levels of organizational management
  11. Experience with how to use data and metrics to inform designs.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Senior UI/UX Architect role operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or exert force, up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to temperature-related weather conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Travel requirements exist for this position, and are anticipated at 10% or less, domestic.

There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.
