Summary

Project Engineer 3 is an experienced level performing a full range of assignments and uses considerable independent judgment with considerable latitude to specific situations. Is a core member of the engineering team and a key part of project teams. They have a good understanding of engineering fundamentals, engineering packages of process plants, industry codes/standards and best-practices, quality control and safety standards; and they possess the engineering skills to complete the common and more complicated design work which will be peer reviewed in accordance with company and/or customer specifications. Day-to-day work activities will be focused on supporting engineering, design, & production work through completing design calculations and clearly communicating the completed design to internal and external customers when required. May work in a mentoring role.

Some of the work you will do:

  • Execute engineering deliverables using industry acceptable methodologies, procedures, and practices to ensure designs are congruent with international, national and local standards and codes.
  • Perform complex design tasks and calculations for several projects at a time.
  • Perform, interpret, and review designs for applicable equipment and systems.
  • Prepare and review technical reports when required.
  • Provide complete and clear design/procurement/fabrication packages for use by internal and external customers.
  • Reviews and stamps calculations and drawings (where applicable).
  • Supports and mentors engineers (including those ones pursuing professional licensure).
  • Independently plans and implements solutions for their project/team.
  • Accountable end-to-end, through planning, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Communicates technical issues and decisions clearly and proactively to a cross-functional audience, mastering the ability to express complicated issues simply.
  • Trusted to do what they say they will do or communicate promptly if there is an issue.

Here are the skills that you need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in the following disciplines:
    • Civil/Structural Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Automation/Robotic Technology or similar
  • Experience: Generally, at least 5 years or more of related experience.
  • Proficient with CAD software like AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, Autodesk Advanced Steel, Civil 3D, SolidWorks &/or Creo (PRO-E).
  • Knowledge of industry standards like ASME, API, AWWA, MSS, ANSI, PIP, ASTM, IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NFPA, ISO, ASHRAE, among others.
  • Exposure to preparation of Engineering packages on different phases (Feasibility, Concept, FEED, Detailed Design) for Process Plants.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering plans and specifications.
  • Detail oriented, well organized.
  • Self-motivated with detailed and complete follow-through.

Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Structural Engineer (SE) license (if relevant to area of discipline).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use a workstation using computer/phone.
  • Some lifting may be involved (up to 40 lbs.).
