Network Engineer

Job Posting: IT Administrator (Part-Time - 1/2 to 1/3 Time)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator with a strong background in Information Security and Networking to join our team on a part-time basis. The role will involve implementing secure network solutions, configuring firewalls, and managing VPN services. The successful candidate will work onsite in Troy, MI, ensuring the security and performance of network infrastructure and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and monitor Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper SRX VPN services, and Juniper EX switches.
• Deploy PoE wireless access points (WAPs) and maintain secure wireless networks.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux systems, including containers and automation scripts.
• Configure and integrate LDAP services within a mixed Palo Alto and Juniper network environment.
• Deploy and manage services that utilize LDAP, 802.1x, GitLab, Confluence, and Jira.
• Utilize scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Perl) for system administration.
• Implement automation tools to streamline security log reviews.
• Maintain compliance with globally recognized Security Frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, ISO27001, SOX, PCI, ITAR).
• Install, troubleshoot, and configure network security devices, wireless access points, switches, servers, and network patching.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with red teams and offensive security research groups.
• Expertise in designing and implementing unattributed and air-gapped networks for malware analysis and offensive security research.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Information Security, or equivalent.
• 10-15 years of experience in an IT administrator role.
• Strong client-focused approach with proven ability to implement information security and networking best practices.
