This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their benefit and vacation package upon hire!

Shift:

  • Monday - Thursday | 6:00am - 4:30pm

Salary as a CNC Machinist:

  • $25.00 - $35.00+/hr (based on experience)

Position Information:

Monitor and control the quality of machining processes using process control tools such as control charts and statistical capability information. Participate in continuous improvement activities that result in standardization and waste reduction in the manufacturing process. Maintain the production processes and the expected efficiencies established for the product line. Perform new product setups and troubleshoot problems that arise on the machine.

  • Read part prints/OCP's and job routers for all product specifications. i.e.: dimensions, tolerances, inspection, number of parts to be machined and Tooling Instruction Sheet (TIS).
  • Use machine controls to cycle machine through production operations, adjusting tool positions, and tool changes. Also review machine operating criteria such as cycle time, speeds and feeds.
  • Inspect product using Inspection equipment according to the operation control plan/print. Perform new product inspection, including the inspection of complex GD&T features. Ensure proper lubrication and cooling on workpieces.
  • Maintain work area according to TPM and 5S.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, such as Area Improvement Team (AIT).
  • Understand CNC programming, machine tooling, and different work holding techniques.
  • Assist CNC programmers with new product in-loads. Provide tooling and fixture ideas to the engineer and programmer. Propose process improvements that reduce cycle time and increase product quality.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify problems on a CNC machine with minimal assistance from the programmer or engineer.

What kind of experience do you need to succeed?:

  • Strong CNC troubleshooting skills in addition to basic machining principles.
  • Ability to perform new product set-ups from start to finish with minimal support from the programmer and engineer. Must be able to provide solid feedback to the programmer through the prove-out process including ideas for improvement and ways to make the process faster and more efficient.
  • Possess the technical competency to read and interpret advanced technical documentation. For example; this individual must be able to understand GD&T including, bonus tolerances, true positions, datum structures and planes.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude. (Proven through documented experience or testing.)
  • Reading and Math skills for interpretation of technical documents used in the manufacturing process.
