Business Intelligence Engineer II, Legal Litigation

In this role, you will sit with the Litigation and Regulatory Operations team, and work with paralegals, business analysts, Legal technologists, lawyers, and global business leaders to operationalize the production of legal work and reduce risk for Amazon. You’ll enjoy breaking things to see how they work, improving on what works, discarding what doesn't, and learning from both. You should be passionate about technology and solving high-impact, ambiguous, business problems in the legal space.


Key job responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
  2. Work with PMs and Business stakeholders in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytics and reports.
  3. Conduct ad hoc data analysis and data quality investigations.
  4. Implement training and documentation solutions that enable stakeholders to get the most out of our self-serve reporting tools.
  5. Develop and support the analytical technologies that give our customers timely, flexible, and structured access to their data.
  6. Defining, developing, and maintaining critical business and operational reports reviewed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  7. Analysis of historical data to extract meaningful insights and learnings from large and complicated data sets, identify trends, and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations.
  8. Collaborating with software development teams to implement analytics systems and data structures to support large-scale data analysis and delivery of machine learning models.
  9. Understanding of Amazon’s data resources, which to use, how, and when.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience.
  2. Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  3. Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  4. Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
  5. Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling.
  6. Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  7. Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
