Negotiable | 03-Jul-2024 to Until Filled (PST) | Houston, TX, USA | Full TimeWe have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Gateway HALO FCS to join our team with teammate company, Nexus Solutions.Objective:Systems Engineer for the development of the Habitation systems and hardware for the Gateway vehicle and Habitationand Logistics Outpost (HALO) moduleThe Habitation Systems Engineer, as part of the Gateway Crew Systems management team will:Perform, review, and present architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall design andperformancePerform requirements decomposition and develop requirements for Level 3 (Habitation and Logistics module)Develop verification and validation plans and statementsDevelop interface control documentsReview and provide comments on program documentationSupport trade studies or assessments on crew equipment, such as stowage containers, inventory management, etc.Present to Gateway Program management, Johnson Space Center division management and chief engineersCoordinate with other Gateway system management teams including power, environmental control and life support, crewhealth and performance, etc.Coordinate with other programs including Orion and the Human Lander SystemWork in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for supportMay support various Advanced Exploration System (AES) Logistics Reduction (LR) projects. Examples include advancedclothing technologies, trash compaction, autonomous RFID inventory management, and othersPerform other duties as requiredQualifications - ExternalRequisition Qualifications:This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and businessneeds, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.Requisition Qualifications:BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in the fieldor in a related areaExperience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements andverification success criteriaExperience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space systems including HabitationBasic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such asmechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design of softwareand toolsAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetingsAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks and assess project needsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office productsRequisition Preferences:Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and proceduresExperience with spacecraft habitation systemsExperience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE)Experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques
