Job Duties:

  1. Establish the project framework for delivering engineering and design.
  2. Provide cross-discipline coordination/supervision by directing project execution activities and discipline deliverable creation for one large or several smaller projects.
  3. Accountable for the safe/sustainable engineering, quality, cost and schedule delivery of all work by the engineering team on the project.
  4. Supervise project activities to ensure team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  5. Support the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
  6. Contribute to the understanding of legal requirements and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
  7. Use local/global standards to support technical excellence.
  8. Ensure checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
  9. Participate in project execution strategy and planning.
  10. Drive innovative solutions, technology advances, and methods to effectively deal with working out of sequence.
  11. Own the engineering plan and project scope/cost/time requirements, ensure discipline teams meet expectations, and coordinate disciplines to ensure project success.
  12. Support management of project change and progressing for the discipline.
  13. Work with other members of the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
  14. Plan inter-discipline quality, monitor quality activities, drive and participate in squad checking, recommend improvements, and take action where required.
  15. Seek input from knowledgeable sources and monitor that constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews are incorporated into engineering/design.
  16. Work with site personnel to resolve issues.
  17. Create plans or documents that support construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning.
  18. Provide or lead on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turnover.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering or a related field

Minimum Experience: 15 years (180 months) of progressive engineering experience in chemicals, petrochemical and refining project design, systems upgrades, execution, construction, including experience in detail design of onshore and offshore facilities, as well as on-site construction experience with exposure to and knowledge of modular construction; 5 years (60 months) of relevant project engineering experience on brownfield and greenfield up to $500M TIC sized capital projects.
