Teleo is a robotics startup disrupting a trillion-dollar industry. Teleo converts construction heavy equipment, like loaders, dozers, excavators, trucks, etc. into autonomous robots. This lets one operator control multiple machines in parallel unlocking significant returns for the customer while materially enhancing the safety and comfort of the operator.

As a Vehicle Systems Integration Engineer, you will oversee the development, integration, and validation of Teleo technology on new heavy construction equipment. Your duties will consist of assessing the modifications required to adapt the Teleo Retrofit Kit to new equipment, implementing those changes, and validating your work on the vehicles. The best candidate for this role will have a multidisciplinary approach to their work and an acute passion for building reliable and reusable solutions that will contribute to the growth of the company. Candidates should have a proven background in at least one of the following disciplines: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or embedded firmware. This role also requires the ability to travel regularly to construction sites at customer locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Proven ability to zoom quickly from system view to detailed design and back
  2. Extensive experience troubleshooting complex systems at remote isolated locations and proposing solutions
  3. Acute attention to engineering detail
  4. Ability to multi-task and work independently in remote locations
  5. Strong collaboration skills with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
  6. Valid driver’s license required to operate vehicles
  7. BA in Electrical Engineering or related degree with 2+ years of experience designing PCBAs
  8. Well-versed in CAD tools for schematic captures, board layout, and harness design (Altium, KiCAD, OrCAD)
  9. Well-versed in the design and integration of electronics systems and harnesses on mobile platforms
  10. Proven experience launching electronics products targeted for harsh environments (in fields such as medical devices, aerospace, and automotive)

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Practical experience with driving/using heavy construction vehicles
  2. Experience in engineering universal solutions broadly deployable to multiple platforms/construction equipment
  3. Experience interacting with customers and representing the company
  4. Startup experience (hands-on + creative thinker with a Get It Done attitude)
  5. MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of hands-on experience developing, qualifying, and deploying safety-critical electronics solutions (including mechanical integration)
  6. Experience developing code in C/C++/Rust on embedded systems
  7. Familiarity with RTOS
  8. Experience designing HIL (Hardware In the Loop) test benches and production line procedures
  9. Well-versed in Python or C++
  10. Very familiar with software version control development tools (Github)

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Performance of the position requires working safely and may occasionally require climbing up to elevated surfaces, working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, noise levels, and on a range of outdoor work surfaces. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, the position may require frequent movement and activity relating to using keyboards, viewing data on computer displays, and communicating verbally and in writing. You may be required to occasionally stand for extended periods, operate tools and controls, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
