We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our ever-evolving Platforms team to help us unleash the potential of every business.
About the team:
We are Worldpay for Platforms. We have a rich 25-year history of being the author, scaler, and leader of integrated payments. Today our business serves over one thousand software companies and over 700K of their end-software users with their payment solutions.
What you'll own:
- Design, implement, and maintain microservices architecture within Kubernetes, leveraging Helm for package management and deployment consistency.
- Build and maintain tooling that empowers developers to streamline CI/CD processes, enabling efficient, end-to-end pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar.
- Ensure platform stability, scalability, and performance in highly transactional compute environments, focusing on automation and operational excellence.
- Utilize Pulumi to define and manage infrastructure as code, enabling dynamic and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
What you bring:
- Proven experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS, to manage and scale infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of container orchestration tools, including Kubernetes and Helm, for efficient deployment and scaling.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, to manage data in high volume applications.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Pulumi and Terraform, for managing and automating infrastructure deployments.
- Experience working in high-transactional compute environments, ensuring performance and reliability at scale.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language; experience with C#, Python, and/or PHP is a plus.
- Strong understanding of best practices in security, scalability, and high availability.
Desired Experience (not required):
- Previous experience working in a fintech or payments-focused environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms or tools.
- Passion for exploring new technologies and optimizing existing ones.
