What you bring to the table
Through our Construction Management division, our clients depend on our preconstruction team to deliver an enhanced preconstruction service to produce a quality experience and end product.
Envision is seeking a Preconstruction Engineer to join an extraordinary preconstruction team in the Tampa market. In this role, you will be involved in many facets of preconstruction with the ability to evolve our existing operations. As the Preconstruction Engineer, you will support the team leader on preconstruction duties and responsibilities. This position will be under the supervision of Envision’s Preconstruction Director.
The job involves the following essential functions:
- Understand Envision's Best Practices
- Provide accurate quantity takeoffs and initial pricing
- Able to independently estimate interior, envelope, and site scopes of work with minimal direction and understand applicable specification sections
- Able to organize and develop an estimate using Bid Tabulation
- Develop and maintain project documents
- Comfortable command of preconstruction technologies such as Revit, BIM & Procore, as well as adjacent technologies such as Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam
- Perform the Envision Bid Day process accurately and reliably
- Interact successfully and in a professional manner with subcontractors/vendors
- Conduct themselves professionally and represent the organization well
- Effective time management skills
- Develop a basic understanding of overhead, fee, and insurance add-ons

You must also meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 1-year experience in estimating or preconstruction in commercial construction
- Fundamental understanding of project documents
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a level of exposure to various preconstruction technologies
- Experience with 3D model-based applications such as Revit, BIM
Physical Demands:
Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; occasionally ascends/descends ladders and stairs; constantly works in outdoor weather conditions; may move equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site; constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team; constantly moving around job site; ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
