The College of Engineering has an exciting opening for a Front-End Web Developer. This is a full-time, permanent position.
What You Will Do:
- Create the architecture and infrastructure needed to expand the College’s website ecosystem.
- Work with College leadership and communications colleagues to build new websites, templates, and design elements for key strategic priorities and initiatives.
- Oversee proper integration into existing deployment processes.
- Create and maintain a roadmap of projects, enhancements, and releases for the College’s main websites.
- Design, implement, and support new features to improve web content display.
- Lead website re-design projects.
- Ensure landing pages for high-priority initiatives are dynamic and accessible.
- Design and build custom modules for use across all Drupal websites.
- Identify existing and evolving technologies to use for upgrades.
- Own the College’s Design System.
- Maintain online style guides and documentation to support best practices.
- Advocate for accessibility; lead audits and apply best practices.
- Help troubleshoot and prioritize issues related to front-end development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science, programming, web development, human-computer interaction, web design or related field AND 3 years of experience in a front-end development role.
What You Bring:
- A strong portfolio of sites that you personally developed.
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with WordPress, Drupal, or similar content management systems.
- Working knowledge of LESS, SASS, or other CSS pre-processors.
- Working knowledge of WCAG standards.
- Expert knowledge in high-performance and in-browser graphics.
- Strong working knowledge of responsive web design.
- Strong understanding of UX standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work successfully in a team environment.
- Must be comfortable using productivity tools.
- Ability to communicate through various technology tools.
