Engineer, Reliability Process Analyzer

Location: Deer Park, TX, US, 77571

The purpose of this position is to develop, maintain, and execute a strategic position on reliability improvement with plant process analyzers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead key strategic initiatives for the IEA Reliability Team.
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain the long-range plan for analyzers.
  3. Oversight of the five-year analyzer project plan.
  4. Obsolescence identification, replacement justification, and management.
  5. Design and oversight of the preventive maintenance (PM) optimization process.
  6. Application of corporate and industry standards and procedures.
  7. Development of analyzer turnaround scope.
  8. Sponsor or provide an analyzer engineering service for capital and expense projects.
  9. Develop conceptual scopes and write Project Initiation Forms (PIFs) for analyzer projects.
  10. Generate, review, and approve analyzer packages of assigned projects.
  11. Execute and approve Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of new analytical systems.
  12. Design analyzer projects/upgrades/modifications to engineering standards and guidelines and ensure corporate requirements are followed.

Provide process analyzer support to the asset teams through:

  1. Guidance to asset (Technical, Environmental, Production) engineers and specialists.
  2. Assistance to Technical, Environmental, Production, and Maintenance for complex troubleshooting, incidents, and unscheduled events.
  3. Development of TA (Turnaround), unit outage, and capital project scope and participate proactively in TA core team and project teams through engineering execution support as required.
  4. Track and report on process area bad actors and work to systematically remove defects in the system.
  5. Lead and/or participate in PHAs and RCFA teams as required.
  6. Lead investigation teams as required by the site incident investigation process.

Supports LPO's development of technical competencies by:

  1. Mentoring less experienced engineers, participate in the onboarding process.
  2. Active participation in the corporate Process Analyzer Technical Network.

Ensure integrity of engineering records associated with analyzers by:

  1. Ensuring correct calibration methods are maintained.
  2. Ensuring that data management systems (such as SAP, INTOOLs, Engineering Drawings, etc.) remain accurate and are updated in a timely manner for assigned projects.
  3. Maintain MOC sponsor qualification status.
  4. Ensuring proper update MOC practices are followed.

Min. Qualifications

  1. Four-year college education or 10+ years of experience.
  2. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in instrumentation or process analytics required with degree or 10-12 years of experience without degree.
  3. Advanced knowledge of analyzers required.
  4. Bachelor of Engineering preferred.
  5. 15+ years of experience preferred.

Must be at least 18 years of age and must be legally authorized to work in the United States (US) on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
