The AWD Component Engineer will focus on MH product lines including axle, transfer case, and Sisu products. The AWD Component Engineer will work with customers to develop installation solutions of MH AWD components in OEM vehicles. They will also work directly with Production and Quality teams to ensure products meet engineering defined standards. Under broad supervision, assists in the fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical machines, equipment, and tools. Inspects that all equipment is in accordance with the quality and safety standards. May require orientation in some phases of his work. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience. Responsibilities
  • Product Application
    • Assess customer needs and approve applications of products including field testing if necessary
    • Develop application solutions with customers
    • Support AWD engineering in application of AWD components including axle, t-case and AWD controls
  • Product Configuration
    • Create and maintain product configurations of AWD and axle components.
  • Production and Quality
    • Create and maintain assembly instructions for production use
    • Provide Quality Control with necessary metrics
  • Service Documentation
    • Create and maintain service documentation for MH products
    • Train customers and end users where necessary
  • Troubleshooting
    • Support departments on MH products including Production, Warranty, Service, and Purchasing where necessary
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Implement changes to enhance features, improve production processes, improve reliability, reduce cost, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Familiarity with CAD systems
  • Proficiency in documentation
  • Working knowledge of geartrains
