Software Engineer

Red Cedar Consultancy, LLC, a fast-growing IT services firm, is currently looking for smart and self-motivated Java Developers with the ability to take on and overcome challenges in a dynamic and collaborative team environment. As a member of our Agile development team, you will support several complex and high-volume customer systems. The ideal candidate would have experience developing in Java and building Representation State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interface (API) solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Work as a member of a scrum team to develop, integrate, and deploy high quality reusable, testable, and efficient code including Microservices with Java, Spring Boot, and REST API’s.
2. Developing microservices that include RESTful services using Spring Framework (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, and Batch).
3. Writing Unit Test frameworks (JUnit, Mocking frameworks), code coverage, and code review and integrating work with GitLab.
4. Working within a SAFe environment that includes consistent leadership support, continued learning education, refining user stories, providing internal and customer demonstrations of developed code.
5. Contributing within a SAFe environment including the Daily scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives, Backlog grooming, Sprint/System Demos, PI Planning, and Inspect & Adapt events.

Required Skills/Experience:

1. 5+ years of related experience in software development.
2. Experience with JAVA and developing/maintaining backend APIs.
3. Knowledge of REST API, JSON.
4. Experience using API test cases in SOAP UI, PostMan, or ReadyAPI.
5. Experience with common web development frameworks (Angular, Docker, React, Spring, Node.js, jQuery, Microservice Design, etc.).
6. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
7. U.S. Citizen with existing or the ability to pass a Public Trust background investigation.

Desired Skills/Experience:

1. Experience with GitLab DevOps/CI/CD platform.
2. Experience with an IDE such as Eclipse.
