Job Requirements / Description
Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for an Integration Lead - Systems Engineer on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).
Responsibilities:
- Apply systems engineering principles and techniques to establish and lead System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) initiatives for requirements validation, product development, product integration, requirements verification, system certification and validation, and hardware product deployment.
- Establish and cultivate working relationships with NASA leads, requirement owners, and commercial teammates' key personnel.
- Mentor team members with implementation of SE&I activities such as requirements identification, verification and tracking, interface definition and Interface Control Document (ICD) development, working with design organizations and cross-functional teams, supporting development, integration, certification, and verification testing.
- Provide comprehensive, technical systems knowledge and expertise during major project milestones and project reviews to lead SE&I teams through action resolution.
- Utilize comprehensive understanding of the product life cycle to establish and lead SE&I performance initiatives for effective execution of concept trade studies, requirements management, test & verification, and modeling and analysis.
- Manage special studies including the ability to lead teams involving multiple disciplines and organizations.
- Monitor critical tasks and issues, and present to program management as applicable based on technical/schedule/cost impact to program.
- Provide guidance for team members to navigate Program processes.
- Assess Program schedules for accuracy and plausibility.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applied knowledge of product life cycle development, sound systems engineering & integration principles, and strong working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of systems engineering practices associated with the definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, and validation of complex systems.
- Knowledge of data digitization systems (DDS), tools, or initiatives that promote the digitization of the systems engineering & integration discipline.
- Ability to track and manage multiple tasks in parallel.
- Extensive experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Space Exploration programs, the International Space Station and its subsystems, along with one or more visiting vehicles and modules (Cygnus, Dragon, CST-100, Dream Chaser, HTV, Soyuz, Progress, Axiom).
- Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software, JIRA or other similar tools.
- Working experience with data digitization software (DDS) for systems engineering.
- Working experience with DOORS requirements management software or other requirements management software.
Education and Relevant Work Experience:
BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school, plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable and progressive engineering experience.
