General Summary:
The Validation and Verification Test Engineer, Systems Integration Group position is responsible for executing test plans, procedures and test cases along with generating test reports and supporting documentation and artifacts. Will also involve reviewing systems and software requirements, both textual and model-based, and developing and dry-running and test cases and procedures. These test cases will be both manual and automated using the advanced system integrated test facility.
*This is a Contingent position with our company (1-year or longer)*
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute system and software test cases in the advanced system integrated test and avionics lab.
- Review current manual test cases and develop automate the manual test cases where possible.
- Review system and software requirements and develop systems and software requirements based test cases for various avionics control systems. Requirements may be both textual and/or models.
- Perform traceability of requirements to test cases and code/models.
- Perform and document reviews and requirements, test cases, code, and models according to formal processes.
- Performs configuration management tasks as part of the systems and software verification process.
- Document Issues/Failures in bug tracking system and also verify bug fixes via formal testing.
- Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
- Bachelors’ degree in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field required.
- Experience with avionics or software testing a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat Software.
- Understanding of MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C coding preferred.
- Experience in avionics/aviation industry during co-ops or internships.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- Ability to efficiently learn new skills and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced team oriented environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally incumbents may be exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
- Occasionally incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA,DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).
- Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
- Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
- Effectively communicate in Business English language.
- Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
- Occasionally incumbents may need to pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
