Responsibilities

1. Maintain the company platform uptime, performance, stability, and scalability.
2. Develop and maintain a public API.
3. Work with big data technology (Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
4. Work with DBA to create ETL and Data Warehouse system.
5. Closely monitor all platform-related production systems.
6. Build tools and processes to support analytics, monitoring, machine-learning, and data-warehousing platforms.
7. Define and implement various strategies covering everything from subnets to backups to fog networking/computing configuration and deployments.

The Ideal Candidate

1. Experience in software/systems development.
2. Strong software development background, experience building software systems.
3. Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: PHP, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Elixir, Go or comparable.
4. Strong background in Linux administration.
5. Strong experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, etc.
6. Strong understanding of IT security best practices.
7. Experience with automation/configuration software (Puppet, Ansible), and/or orchestration software (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, etc.).
8. Experience with administration at production scale.
