Design & Project Engineer

We are a successful, privately held, $40M design, engineering and construction company specializing in the restaurant, hospitality and entertainment sector. We are currently looking for a Design & Project Engineer . This individual would be responsible for working within a collaborative team to support the design and engineering efforts of the in-house design and build departments on a wide variety of projects.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

1. Effectively translate client intentions and expectations into working kitchen designs.
2. 2+ years of food service design experience.
3. Knowledge of all aspects of the kitchen with attention to operational flow, field constructability, equipment specification, plumbing and electrical construction, health codes, kitchen codes, etc.
4. Knowledge of all components of kitchen design including kitchen equipment, custom fabrication, exhaust ventilation systems, refrigeration, beverage distribution systems, etc.
5. Proficient in AutoCAD, with knowledge of Revit preferred.
6. Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Able to collaborate with both internal team and external customers in a highly professional manner.
8. Organized and detail-oriented.
9. Able to work in a fast-paced growing department.

Day To Day Responsibilities

1. Final review of construction documents for accuracy and completeness.
2. Specify optimal equipment for the intent of the menu in line with preferred vendors.
3. Coordinate effectively with project architects and engineers.
4. Manage deadlines and job schedules successfully.
5. Create and maintain customer relationships.
6. Grow industry knowledge through yearly factory training.
